Juliette Cezzar is a designer, educator, and author based
in New York City. She is an Assistant Professor of Communication
Design at The New School’s Parsons School of Design, USA, where she
directed the BFA design programs from 2011–14. She also served as
president of AIGA/NY from 2014–16.
AIGA is the oldest and largest professional organization for
designers in the United States. Founded in 1914 as the American
Institute of Graphic Arts, its members now practice all forms of
design, from strategic consulting to business design strategy,
creative direction, branding, visual design, information design,
customer experience design, interactive and motion design, and
education.
The book addresses topics that we currently discuss, but have never
had a book to back up the discussion. I feel the book is strong and
would be useful to students who are embarking on a career in
graphic design. I would absolutely use this book with my senior
portfolio class.
*Jerrold L. Graves, Pasadena City College, USA*
The tone of the author is very approachable, clear, and concise. My
students really appreciate and benefit most when reading advice
that sounds as if it speaks directly to them and this author does
that well.
*Brittany Schade, Western Washington University, USA*
I really like how the author expresses her thoughts and
experiences. It feels reflective of the industry and how we
communicate with one another rather than some of the books that
either come across as too academic or alternatively, too simple and
basic. The approach fits very well with my courses.
*Angela Dow, Ferris State University, USA*
Well written, illustrated and easy to follow.
*Timothy Bones, North Kent College, UK*
