About the Author

Stephen Dixon is a two-time National Book Award finalist. He is a professor in The Writing Seminars at the Johns Hopkins University.

Reviews

Stephen Dixon's eighth volume of stories is an almanac of incidents in which life's semblance of fairness goes haywire. The best of these pieces are so skillful that when every one of them reaches its moment of surreal implausibility, we assume that Mr. Dixon has placed the moment there on purpose, to test the irresistibility of the nightmare logic that's at work.
