Somewhere in the world every ninety seconds a mother dies. With over four million children born in the US each year, one-third of all pregnant women face pregnancy-related complications. Complications that nearly result in death have risen 25 percent in the US in recent history.
The headline-making true story of Angela Burgin Logan showcases how a mother's dream can turn into a nightmare. Set against the breathtaking backdrop of Niagara Falls, Angela, a successful marketing executive, fell in love with Samson Logan, a recording artist on the rise. After marriage when Angela became pregnant, she felt ill and began to experience mysterious and unusual signs. Her doctor told her the symptoms were normal, no cause for alarm, and repeatedly dismissed her cries for help.

Breathe will inspire all women to become their own biggest advocates and will raise awareness of this crisis in women's health. Breathe also brings attention to the alarming disparity in the rate of pregnancy related death for African American women.

I created my blog, Mocha Dad, to be a resource to help men be
better dads. Although I didn't grow up with my father, I had a
loving mother who nurtured and molded me. Mothers add critical
value into the lives of children and are the cornerstone of our
society. I am so thankful that Angela and Samson Logan have shared
their story. I know that their story will inspire many and make a
difference in the lives of families everywhere.
--Frederick Goodall, blogger at MochaDad.com and named one of the
top dad bloggers by Cision Motherhood has been a life changing
experience for me. Our son has inspired my new career and ability
to work online instead of in a newsroom. Angela's story has far
reaching relevance for moms and the families who love them. I can't
wait to get my copy.

Angela's story will stay with me. Of all of the rights of women,
the greatest is to be a mother. Learning that women around the

unthinkable. Thank you Angela, for sharing your story while
reminding us to have faith, and shedding light on this crisis.
