About the Author

Cleveland native James R. Spangler grew up near several streetcar lines, and following his service in World War II, he worked for the Cleveland Transit System. He retired from the U.S. Post Office after 35 years of employment. A member of the Euclid Railfans Group and the Northern Ohio Railway Museum, Spangler has a photograph collection documenting the city's streetcar heritage.
