Paperback, 296 pages
Published
United States, 1 January 2009

1n 2005, at the age of 58 the author matriculated as a graduate student at Selwyn College, University of Cambridge. With a dream of wearing a gown, walking together with his classmates from his college towards the Senate House for the graduation ceremony, he worked very hard for two years. Unfortunately, in the end he failed. Mourning his broken dream, he cried. Standing on King's Bridge by the side of the weeping willow, into the River Cam, he dropped his tears. However, student life in Cambridge was unforgettable. Hiding himself in the University Library surrounded by millions of books, walking through the Backs to the lecture hall in Mill Lane from Selwyn, having three-hour examinations under the invigilation of an administrator wearing a gown, all these experiences had deeply imbedded in his memory. At least once in a lifetime, he had the honour to be a student of Cambridge. The author's detailed college life as well as his feelings through this book he unfolded them all to the readers. When tourists walk passing by the smiling daffodils in spring; or during summer time when visitors enjoy punting along the River Cam, They would agree that Cambridge is one of the most beautiful places on earth. When students are riding their bicycles along the Trinity Avenue in autumn; or when they leave their footprints on the Clare Bridge while it is covered by snow, would they not feel proud of being able to study at Cambridge which is one of the top universities in the world? For those alumni of the University, this book might remind them of the Cambridge of their student days. For those who have never been to Cambridge University before, the author's experience would at least be able to provide some insight into college life at Cambridge.
