A comprehensive and practical guide to developing, testing, applying and firing your own glazes.
Greg Daly is an Australian ceramic artist of international standing, with works held in over 70 galleries and museums worldwide, as well as 75 solo exhibitions to his name. He is a member of the International Academy of Ceramics in Geneva and a lecturer for the Ceramics Workshop at the Australian National University in Canberra. An acclaimed teacher, he has presented over 150 ceramics workshops and lectures around the world, and is also the author of Glazes and Glazing Techniques and Lustre.
The book is a good, even exciting, read. Daly's intense character
shines through every page. It is enjoyable reading, especially
chapter one where the author explains all aspects and strings
together all the possible things that can occur in a firing and why
different kilns give different results. It's not easy to sting all
these happenings together developmentally and hold the reader's
interest. But he does.
