About the Author

About the Author Dave Taylor has been involved with the development of the Internet and Web for more than 20 years. The author of the international bestseller Creating Cool HTML 4 Web Pages (published by Hungry Minds, Inc.), he's also written three other books of note: Teach Yourself Unix in 24 Hours (published by Sams.Net), The eAuction Insider (published by Osborne/McGraw-Hill), and Global Software (published by Springer-Verlag). Dave also worked as a research scientist at Hewlett-Packard's Palo Alto R&D Laboratory and founded three different startups: The Internet Mall, iTrack.com, and Growing Ventures, Inc. He has a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a masters degree in Educational Computing, and is working on a distance-learning MBA. Although he's frequently busy toiling over a complex Web-site solution, advising entrepreneurs on startup strategies, and answering his overflowing e-mailbox, Dave much prefers to play with his two delightful kids and wonderful wife.
