About the Author Dave Taylor has been involved with the development of the Internet and Web for more than 20 years. The author of the international bestseller Creating Cool HTML 4 Web Pages (published by Hungry Minds, Inc.), he's also written three other books of note: Teach Yourself Unix in 24 Hours (published by Sams.Net), The eAuction Insider (published by Osborne/McGraw-Hill), and Global Software (published by Springer-Verlag). Dave also worked as a research scientist at Hewlett-Packard's Palo Alto R&D Laboratory and founded three different startups: The Internet Mall, iTrack.com, and Growing Ventures, Inc. He has a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a masters degree in Educational Computing, and is working on a distance-learning MBA. Although he's frequently busy toiling over a complex Web-site solution, advising entrepreneurs on startup strategies, and answering his overflowing e-mailbox, Dave much prefers to play with his two delightful kids and wonderful wife.
