Jay Cronley (1943-2017) was a humorist, novelist, third generation newspaper man, horse race correspondent, and for 46 years, a famed columnist in Tulsa, Oklahoma. During his decades at Tulsa World, he wrote more than 2,500 columns. His writing appeared in Sports Illustrated, Playboy, ESPN.com, and Esquire. Five movies were made from his books, including Funny Farm with Chevy Chase, Quick Change with Bill Murray, and Let it Ride with Richard Dreyfuss. He was a baseball star at the University of Oklahoma.
