About the Author

In addition to his formal academic qualifications, Sebastian Ioppolo has over 20 years of
hands-on experience as an importer and exporter, and now uses this knowledge in his
trade consulting work for organisations in Australia and abroad. This has provided him with
the most valuable requirement for international trade success: an intimate knowledge of
the industry.
Over this period, he has witnessed and been a part of the evolving nature of the industry and
all the associated developments in regulations, practices and procedures. This extensive
and practical experience is reflected in his approach to his consulting work and writing,
and provides real and usable information to the recipients of his work.
As a teacher and course facilitator at Melbourne’s Victoria University and other institutions,
