I really loved this book! It's set in 1935 written as a diary of a busy mother of 2 just starting out homeschooling. It includes examples of how tos on naturewalks and keeping a nature notebook (through the things the characters do), nature poems, latin names of the living things that the characters see on their walks, selected quotations from Charlotte Mason and some sugguested books to read on the nature theme. This is an american book (ie the nature seen by the characters is not all that relevant to NZ) but don't let that stop you from reading this great book! I loved having a window into a homeschooling family even though it is only fictious.

I really enjoyed this book, informative yet reading like a story rather than a text. While it was written as a fictional diary of a homeschooling mother, it contained lots of information on nature journalling. And if nothing else, it was a nice, relaxing read. Again, an American book, so the nature references were not relevant to Australia, but still some good ideas.
