About the Author

Philip Kindred Dick (1928-82) was born in Chicago, but lived most of his life in California. His career as a science fiction writer comprised an early burst of short stories followed by a stream of novels, typically incorporating androids, drugs, and hallucinations. His most famous books include The Man in the High Castle, A Scanner Darkly and Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?, the inspiration for the movie Blade Runner.

Once I got the product - it was fine. However I was disappointed that it took as long as it did to reach me. I wanted the book to read while I was travelling over the XMAS period. Given that you had the book as a special offer it was annoying that it had to be shipped from overseas. It arrived after my holidays. An indication of lead time prior to purchase would have been helpful.

Interesting alternative, "what if" scenario; Japan and Germany won the war, the USA becomes a totally different place. Slightly confusing ending, but an engrossing read nonetheless. A good addition to a well-rounded modern library.
