Reviews

`[a] deep and ambitious work...The author has an impressive understanding of both political theory and international case law. For researchers who may be familiar with just one aspect of the discipline, the book provides an excellent resource to fill in the gaps in their understanding...There are few books that can rationally discuss authors as diverse as Anthony D. Smith, Habermas, John Stewart Mill, and Charles Tilly, as well as analyze EU conventions and
case law...Malloy should be commended for her analysis and rigor...'
Michael Johns, Laurentian University at Georgian College , Journal of Politics 68 2006
`...there are many things to admire in National Minority Rights in Europe... highly recommended to anyone interested in current debates concerning the accommodation of ethno-cultural diversity in democratic states,'
Steven Wheatley, University of Leeds, International Journal on Minority and Group Rights 13, 2006
`...a progressive account of the status of national minorities...a well written and well researched addition to the discussion...'
David Galbreath, University of Aberdeen, Journal of Public Policy 26, 2006
`...an excellent and highly stimulating and complex piece of work...I would recommend Malloy's book to anyone interested in national minority rights ..or...how this issue has been mainstreamed in European bodies and agencies...'
Christian-Radu Chereji, Babes-Bolyai University, Romania, Balkan Academic News Book Review 12, 2006
