About the Author

Helen Fairbairn, a fulltime travel writer, has written guidebooks to destinations as diverse as the Rocky Mountains, the European Alps and Scotland. Co-author of Walking in Ireland (Lonely Planet), she is a regular contributor to Walking World Ireland Magazine and has spent years researching the best walking routes in Ireland. She lives in Sligo with her husband, Gareth McCormack, a professional photographer who shares her passion for the outdoors and whose work features in this guidebook.
