About the Author

Jibanananda Das (17 February 1899 - 22 October 1954) born in 17 February 1899 in Barisal, Bengal Presidency (Present day Bangladesh), was a Bengali poet, writer, novelist and essayist. While not particularly recognised initially, today Das is acknowledged as "the premier poet of the post-Tagore era in India."
