Nicole Levesque, DPM, was a podiatrist and surgeon from Long Island, New York. She has struggled with schizophrenia all her life but was too scared of being committed to a mental hospital by a psychiatrist. When she was thirty-five, Nicole finally made her first appointment and has since learned to be hopeful about her illness.
Due to a breakdown, Nicole has been unable to work for the past fifteen years, but she enjoys spending time with her loving husband of twenty-four years and writing to help others understand the illness.
