Awesome book. Easy to read but packed with inspiration. One of my top 10 books to read. Helped me move through a stale creative period in my life but it doesn't stop there, gave me great ideas to follow.

Austin Kleon has produced a charming little book, full of his own hand-drawn illustrations and good advice on firing up your creativity. Interesting influences he credits take those interested on to further valuable insights, for example the illustrator Lynda Barry. It's a small book, beautifully produced with a soft matt laminated cover and thick spine which perfectly suits the content. It's not necessarily a book you'd sit down and read in one hit - though that would be possible - I found it perfect for dipping in and out and reminding myself that a different approach is needed sometimes. The "Lifecycle of a project" graphic perfectly sums up the life of a graphic designer. It's generous of Kleon to share his thoughts - and one of his central points is "Do good work and share it". Refreshingly he has no magic bullet to offer as is so common the internet and in answer to someone who whined "I am creative but I don't get time..." he just replied that you need to get up early and get on with it! Good advice indeed.

This book has a good concept - which is why I ordered it - but I expected more for the money.

What a waste of money. Nothing new or interesting here I'm afraid.
