He is the author of two books, Time Travel: The Popular Philosophy of Narrative (Fordham University Press, 2013) and Philosophy, Revision, Critique: Rereading Practices in Heidegger, Nietzsche, and Emerson (Stanford University Press, 2001), and the co-editor of a forthcoming critical anthology, Scale in Literature and Culture (Palgrave Macmillan). Currently he is completing several other research projects including a book about very large objects and images, tentatively titled Big Culture: Toward an Aesthetics of Magnitude.
