Aww, Winnie the Pooh. The very first book I read on my own was 'Eeyore Builds a House' or something along those lines. It was about Eeyore's house and the construction thereof at any rate. Ever since then, I've been rather fond of Eeyore (though I am surprised with how caustic he is in the book).
Ultimately, whatever I can say about Pooh has already been said before. It's a very sweet book, which has been around for nearly 85 years. I read this as a child, and I'll most likely pass it down to my children to read. It's a classic.
I own this book, and everytime I drag it out and dust it off I have good intentions of reading it through with son. Though I just find the 100 Acre wood rather dull, and the writng lack lusture. Pooh is such an unispired character. Though he is so popular, maybe the Disney version is more lovable. I would save this book for the die hard fans, and stick the short and sweet versions for children who like Pooh Bear beacause of the Disney version.
