Reviews

“Yoshi is a young, injured sea turtle found by Japanese fishermen more than twenty years ago. . . . Readers follow Yoshi as she prepares for her return [to the ocean] . . . Moore uses scientific knowledge to describe Yoshi’s travels from Cape Town to the Indian Ocean and beyond, ultimately ending on the western coast of Australia. . . . Yoshi’s incredible story, the collection of scientific information, and engaging illustrations will capture readers, encouraging inquiry and exploration through a sea turtle’s eyes.” — School Library Journal (starred review)

“[A] striking homage to a tenacious reptile . . . Prose takes readers along on a rescued sea turtle’s dramatic 25,000-mile marine journey. Released with a tracking tag in 2017 after 20 years in a South African aquarium, Yoshi begins a record-setting migration that encompasses two oceans and a little over two years. . . . Expansive back matter includes a detailed map of the trip.” — Publishers Weekly
