"Scary as Hell" according to the cover - Hardly! The film centres on a lawyer attempting to prove that 19 year old Emily Rose was the victim of possession by several demons - including he who calls himself Lucifer. The court case is combined with flashbacks to reveal what happened to Emily whilst she was at college. There is the audio tape of her exorcism, which is supposedly genuine. At best this film could be classed as a b grade supernatural religious cross, with very weak story lines and average acting.

'Scary as hell"? More like boring as hell. This film has a very average story and baseline, and generally relies on frightening and unrelenting music and night scenes. Yeah, I guess it was a little scary and unnerving when the first sign of demons appeared. But, in my opinion, the movie was genuinely bleak, and far too intense...Definitely for people who have bad movie taste. Sorry if this review let your hopes down, but it's true - it's not as good as it makes out. I was truly disappointed.

Not the scariest of movies, but like all exorcisms movies always has a great feel to it. It keeps the viewer entertained by keeping the twists throughout.

Scary as hell? not even close. This film revolves around the court case attempting to determine if young emily rose suffered from demonic possession or a more conventional mental disorder. Some of the flashback scenes provided some cheep scares but overall the story to the film is very weak. This is by far a rent once and never again sort of film.
