The film is a good representation of the novel. They will always leave out stuff from the novel but overall it was very well done. The actress playing Salander is excellent. She carries off Salander's anti hero character with great skill. I thoroughly enjoyed the film and look forward to the next instalment.

Don't be deterred by the sub-titles,this film is a beauty. If you are a fan of the book you need to see the Swedish version as it contains all the atmosphere, culture, countryside and characters that made the trilogy of books such a success.A lot of the peripheral issues are removed such as Blomquist's love affair with Erica Berger but the film is the better for it as it then just concentrates on the nuts and bolts of the story. Noomi Rapace is brilliant as Lisbeth Salander and brings the right mix of violence and insecurity to her role. Her revenge on her guardian is extreme but well deserved and may shock some viewers.Nothing is left out. Michael Nyquist has been criticised for his role as Blomquist but I thought he was perfect. He has that world weary appearance of a seasoned journalist who thinks he has seen it all. Do your self a favour, buy this movie and enjoy a superb thriller filmed in the country where it was set, acted by first class people from that country and directed by a renowned Scandinavian. You won't regret your purchase and it will surely whet your appetite for the next installment in this thrilling trilogy.

My Swedish friend brought me the first book for my birthday and then i brought the other two myself. Watched the movie at the cinema and it's totally how I had it in my head. My friend has told me they have made the other two books into movies too. can't wait to see them. There is an extended version on Sweden but it's not sub-titled. Would recommend to any one - books and movie.

Very pleased with my purchase. The subtitles took nothing from the script, and the story followed the book without deviation or embellishment.
