New York City DJ, Danny Krivit, has been spinning and mixing since 1977, and according to many house music purists, was one of the DJs that helped get the genre off the ground and running a decade later. He's been seen doing his thing at events dubbed "718 Sessions" (718 being the phone area code for Brooklyn, NY), which is also the name of his 2009 release. Similar to such modern-day DJs as Miguel Migs, Krivit merges funk-soul sounds with futuristic twists and turns throughout, resulting in what amounts to a seemingly never-ending dance party. The tunes may blend into each other and sound very similar, but that seems to be what dance aficionados look for when pick up a dance disc for their next gathering. 718 Sessions shows that one of the longest-running DJs is certainly still keeping pace with club music's younger generation. ~ Greg Prato
