Personnel: Stan Rogers (vocals, 6- & 12-string guitars); Curly Boy Stubbs (acoustic guitar, background vocals); Grit Laskin (long-necked mandolin, concertina, Northumbrian small pipes, background vocals); Garnet Rogers (vocals, violin, flute); David Alan Eadie (pennywhistle, electric bass, background vocals).
Recorded at The Groaning Board, Ontario, Canada from April 19-22, 1979.
A superb concert album, without a weak moment in any of its nine songs. The highlight is Rogers's rendition of Archie Fisher's "The Witch of Westmoreland," which opens the disc, although it is hard to get past Rogers's own "The Flowers of Bermuda" without having it run through your head for days afterward as well. The upbeat, ebullient mood of the performances is also rather infectious. ~ Bruce Eder
