Sony's budget-line, ten-track Super Hits is actually an excellent, albeit brief, chronicle of Harold Melvin & the Blue Notes' classic recordings for Philadelphia International. All the big pop hits -- "If You Don't Know Me by Now," "The Love I Lost," "Bad Luck" -- are here, along with such R&B hits as "Wake Up Everybody," "Tell the World How I Feel About 'Cha Baby," and "Yesterday I Had the Blues." Yes, there are some hits and fine tracks missing, but it's hard to argue with what's here -- especially for casual fans on a budget. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine
